What are Digestive Enzymes?
They are catalysts which break down food into its basic components, so our bodies can absorb the nutrients they require to build cells, tissues and organs. Raw foods are naturally rich in enzymes, however cooking food destroys these vital enzymes and this puts our digestive system under strain.
Udo’s Choice® Digestive Enzyme Blend contains high potency enzymes intended for use as a replacement for the enzymes lost in cooking and processing of food. It provides enzyme activity combinations, which are precisely balanced to optimise the body’s utilisation of food nutrients. In addition to five protein-based enzymes (which other Enzyme blends are normally lacking) the Ultimate Digestive Enzyme Blend contains all the enzymes required to break down and metabolise fat, carbohydrate, soluble fibre, starch, milk, sugar and complex sugars.
They are made from 100% vegetarian source aspergillus using the solid-state fermentation process recommended by the Food Chemical Codex (FCC), and are available in easily digested vegetarian Vegicaps.
Suggested usage
Excellent results are achieved, particularly if the capsules are opened and the enzymes sprinkled on the food. The enzymes are freeze dried and are activated by liquid and therefore work on the food as it travels to the stomach.
